Telekomunikacja Polska (TP) once again sees growth of subscribers in its digital television services and has better results than cable competitors. At the end of the first quarter of 2010 TP's IPTV service had 111,000 subscribers - an increase of 2,000 - and 306,000 subscribers of satellite platform - an increase of 43,000. more ››

At the end of the fourth quarter of 2009, TP Group had 372.000 subscribers of its television services. This represents an increase of 89.000 compared to the third quarter of 2008 and yearly increase of 259.000. At the end of 2009, there were 109.000 subscribers of IPTV services and 263.000 of television services via satellite. In one quarter, there were only added 2.000 new IPTV clients and 87.000 new satellite TV subsrcibers. more ››

From 1st of March offer of TP's television packages (both IPTV and SAT) will be extended by 2 channels - Investigation Discovery and Discovery Historia. TP Group has announced its results for the third quarter of 2009 which show that there were 176,000 users of satellite television offer and 107,000 internet user. Intelsat announced that South African direct-to-home (DTH) television operator, MultiChoice, signed a long-term, multi-transponder agreement for satellite capacity. The agreement extends and expands MultiChoice’s existing contract on the Intelsat 7 satellite at 68.5ş E to the follow-on satellite, Intelsat 20 (IS-20), which is slated to be launched in early 2012. The contract, which spans the 15-year expected life of IS-20, also provides restoration capacity, resulting in a more robust network platform. more ››
